Let the Bean Speak
Coffee beans are dynamic. They evolve throughout their life and the seasons, even throughout the day. As such, we take the same philosophy as our roasters: let the beans speak for themselves! Each bean has specific flavors it wants to share with you. We want to be listeners.
At Houndstooth, we make room for variation and change. Ever so slightly, the same espresso or Syphon you enjoyed last week might be slightly more acidic this week or have more fruit and floral notes. Our goal is to make you happy. If you haven’t found a coffee that fits your profile, ask one of our baristas to help.
Tree – Coffee varietals abound, 4-6 years to produce first cherries
Picker – Coffee picked as its ripest moment.
Miller – Coffee cherry processed in a washed or unwashed method.
Dryer – Coffee dried on flat ground or raised beds.
Farmer – Coffee overseer and regulator throughout the process.
Exporter – Coffee shipped.
Importer – Coffee received.
Roaster – Coffee roasted, shipped.
Barista – Coffee brewed.
Customer – Coffee enjoyed.
Of course this is simplified, but what a process! The contracts for our coffees attempt to benefit everyone along this chain, including the Earth, in a respectable manner. The sustainable global marketplace in your cup!
